"Amazing"
Review for The Piaculum by Tim Johnson

The Piaculum is an amazing dark fantasy epic about one man’s journey through a life that is littered with an abundance of misery. It is a heart-wrenching, tear-inducing, fictional tale that is allegorically in line with The Crucifixion of Christ. In the Piaculum, a man called Cearl is born with "The White-mark", an icon that sets him apart from his fellow Mone tribe. It is this "White-mark" that makes Cearl a special--and maybe even cursed--individual. For once the tribal nation known as the Kathe discover that Cearl bears the mark, they set out to make him one of their Piaculum--a person born to lifelong suffering for the atonement of Kathe sins. Will Cearl escape this inevitable fate? Or, is he destined to become a permanent installment of a pantheon of gods known as... The Piaculum.

Additional Info:

RELIGIOUS CONTENT: The Piaculum is riddled with Biblical passages and allegorical creativity that have been intelligently handpicked for maximum effect.

ADULT CONTENT/LANGUAGE: I couldn’t find any serious adult issues in The Piaculum, however, there were a few profane words--very few. There was also one strong word used in the story. Nevertheless, I would like to point out that the characters that used these words had been driven to the brink of insanity.

VIOLENCE: The Piaculum is a very dark and bloody tale, so it is best kept from children. The constant agony that the story’s main character had to endure was grueling, which was one of things that made it so intense and suspenseful.

IN CONCLUSION: Author Richard Gray has produced a wonderfully dark--yet--tear-jerking story that is a good reminder to fully appreciate the price that Jesus Christ paid so long ago.
