Hello, my name is Richard Gray. Welcome
to the fiction section of my website. This page will have links
to some of my short works of fiction for people to read for free.
My writting typically falls into the categories of either Science
ficiton, Fantasy, Horror, or humor. The Piaculum, my first published
novel, available this March, has a strong spiritual component
to it, but falls under the category of Dark Fantasy or Horror.
Most of my shorts, however, fall into the category of humor (humor
thats typically a little deranged). I think humor should be short
and sweet but good speculative fiction needs a little longer
to draw you into a new world. Some of the writting here will
be appropriate for all readers, some will not. I plan to rate
each story for content so that readers can be forwarned if something
might offend them.

This page will be constantly under construction
as I add new stories, so please check back often. If you would
like to be put on a mailling list to be notified when new additions
are made, just contact me here

Enjoy,
Richard Gray

Sci-Fi
The Last War, rated PG-13. COMMING SOON. I
wrote this one a while ago and I am in the process of typing
it up. It is PG-13 for violence and the use of explitives. I
plan on posting it in 3 parts. In a not so distant future Parker
McKenzie, an artist drafted into the military when the U.S. is
in the middle of loosing a war, becomes an unlikely hero when
he and a small group of soliders are sent on a mission to protect
a group of scientists working on alien technology that could
have the power to turn things around.

Children's Fantasy
The Cap and the Quest,
rated G. Illustrated. I wrote this story for my nephew's birthday.
Ages 4 and up will love to have it read to them. Ages 8 to adult
will love to read it themselves. Description: For Aaron's birthday
his mysterious uncle living in New York sends him a box with
a red hat in it and a note telling him to take it to his basement.
When he does, a portal to another world opens up, and Aaron and
his brothers Ben, Nathan, and Adam must help a group of elves
defeat an evil ice queen that plauges their land.

Dark Fantasy
The Once and Future King
Rated R for strong, adult language and violence. Please only read this if gun and sword
violence,adult and
racial language will not offend you. Forty years in the future
New York City is plauged with racial hatred and gang violence,
but that's not the only problem. Supernatural forces have
brought the sorceress Morgana La Faye and a host of
demons and dark knights into our world in an attempt to
take over the mortal realm. The only person who can stand in
their way is Nick Rey, a Mexican teenager who is the reincarnation
of King Arthur. The only person who can protect Nick long
enough for him to be ready for the challenge ahead of him
is a wizard named Morriund who came from Avalon at a high
price. This is a work in progress and may turn out to be
of novel length.

Horror
Play Ground, rated PG-15. COMMING SOON. It
is PG-15 for violence, explitives, and tense moments. I wrote
this a long time ago and still need to type it up. A group of
boys playing in a junkyard accidentally commit a crime so horrible
they'll do anything to cover it up.

Humor :)
The Cosmic Implications of Two Quarters in a Sandwich
Bag , PG. I think the title says it
all (a little odd). Click the title to read.
Jayda
The Mighty, PG-11. Mild use of a few explitives, mild sexual
humor, you'll see much worse on network T.V. This may be considered
"guy" humor, feminists might be offended. A father
tells his daughter a bed time story about her hero "Jayda
the Mighty", but this isn't your regular fairy-tale. Click
the title to read.
Night
of the Little FatMen, PG-11. Horror/Humor. Mild use of explitives,
intense moments, mild sexual humor, you'll see much worse on
network T.V. After a cartoonist insults his halloween date, she
reveals the fact that she is really an evil witch (he thought
it was the costume) and curses him that everything he loves will
turn against him. What happens if the things he loves most are
his cartoon creations? Click the title to read.
